These are the backgrounds based off of the works of Scott Wills, the locations are the exterior and interior of the Lincoln Cathedral.
Initially I began with the line work that I traced off of the real pictures I took at The location. Then I added various circus paraphernalia to help create the circus atmosphere.
After the line work I laid the grey-scale or tonal work on top to help establish what shades I would use in the coloured piece.
Finally I added the colour to the backgrounds, trying to leave very few outlines to remain in keeping with Scott Wills blocky style. I also decided to drastically alter the colour of the interior of the cathedral to create a more ominous but still fun atmosphere, while leaving the exterior in similar colours to the original location; with the exception of the sky, which i changed to a more sunset tone to create a more relaxing scene.
If I were to change anything it would definitely be the how clean the lines are, being new to photoshop and drawing my lines where very messy. But through self study I will correct this in the future.
