The Ball Bounce and Pendulum Swing: Not much to say about these, I think the pendulum is fine, it moves well and has good momentum. However the ball is a little jerky, I think the ball suddenly changes rotation very quickly and moves a little too erratically. I would slow it down a tad and fix the rotation to improve.
The Jump and Homer Jump: The Homer jump could be improved with some more sway in the arms on landing and I think if I added a little box for him to punch since it is a Mario jump. Also I think his hands needed to be clenched longer. As for the regular jump I would say the bend in the knees upon landing is too quick so it loses some of the weight, so I would slow that down a bit.
Bi-Pedal and Quadruped Walks: The bi-pedal walk is okay in terms of form but somewhat robotic in movement, that may be in part due to the model used since its essentially a robot but I think its also because the forward movement of the model isn't consistent enough, it pauses on the cross over for a frame or two. The quadruped walk was tough, and I think it would look better if I had it walk a little longer, also I noticed the front left leg snaps a bit at the end so I'd smooth that out to improve it.
Sword Swing: Less of a swing and more of a stab since I went for a fencing style to it. Definitely needs more sway in the body since it looks rigid, while fencing movement is pretty taught I think the animation needs more follow-through and sway in the arms and hips and knees. Also the way the hand moves behind the back needs to be more of a smooth motion, so I'd go into the graph editor and straighten that out.
Homer Box Open: All I would do to this one is when he gets up and when he reaches for the box it gets a little stuttery, so I would just again smooth those out in the graph editor and make the movement more of a smooth arcing motion. Otherwise I'm happy with it.
The Dialogue Animation: My favourite one, all I would say is that some of the head movement is a little unnatural and I would tune that down a bit. Could also benefit from some background, maybe a belt and hat. But that aside I think I did a good job of conveying the characters emotion and it moves fairly smoothly and the lip sync turned out alright considering it's my first attempt.
I would say I've improved from the beginning of the term for sure, I've learned how to 3D animate and just animate better in general. My work still isn't quite as smooth as I would like but I think its very expressionate; I'm good at getting across the emotion or mood. I think I've learned how to better convey momentum and weight and just character disposition.
